 Family Counseling

 Do you Feel……………

  •    Overwhelmed and stressed –as if you  are          running on emergency mode?
  •     Confused or concerned about your child
  •     or teen’s behavior?
  •    Frustrated by the need to create change and the difficulty to do so?

 Do You Desire to Feel………

  • Calm when disciplining your child?
  • Connected with your child?
  • Centered and confident as a parent?
  • Peaceful and joyful in your family?

In perspective……..

It’s simple. You’re tired of power struggles and feeling like your kids just don’t listen. Together, we can fix that. Family Counseling with me will give you the tools to transform your family and bring a new sense of peace to your life. It really is easier than you think.

Just What IS Family Counseling?

Family Counseling  starts from the premise that you are your own best authority and that we can work together to help you uncover your inner wisdom. Each session is conducted in the office face-to-face, or via secured internet video session, and is 45 minutes in length.  We will start with becoming familiar with the challenges and triumphs you have had as a family. Before we get into the work,  it is important that we identify where you are as a family, and what results you would like to have at the end of our time together.

At times, I’ll ask you questions like ”What issues are occuring in your family relationships that youfamily1 would like to change?”  Using  compassion and awareness we come into present time and work with the issues and emotions that are showing up right now. Then we map out steps that will take you towards the future you want with your child, parenter, and other family realtionships.

Family Counseling operates on the premise that each person is an expert on themselves and that  your body, emotions, and mind have a wisdom that we can trust.  Even more useful than the family togetherness and parenting tools I bring to our work is the energy of compassionate awareness. It is easy to get heady, sidetracked, or blaming with ourselves when we start to uncover our previously hidden beliefs and needs. When we start to open up to ourselves, it is so important to do so with gentleness, curiosity, and compassion. Again and again, I will help bring you back to compassionate awareness.

A Family Therapy session ends with heartfelt thanks and homework.

Homework?!?

Yes. HOMEWORK!

family2Remember we are spending approximately one hour together prcessing through the present and working towards your goals. There continues to be work that needs to be done, in between sessions, which gives the value of insights to your parenting and family life. The effectiveness of the family thrapy session is increased exponentially by putting insights gained from the counseling sessions into practice in day-to-day parenting and family living.

What's New

December 10th, 2013

It is that time where we spend our days working, shopping, cooking, cleaning, traveling, hosting, being a guest, and wish granting. It is a wonder we call it is the “Most wonderful time of the year.” It’s that time of year. Yes, ‘that’ time. Where the hustle and bustle takes over daily life. That time where we look at the “lists” everyone has made for us and try to make their “dreams come true.”
